John Willie Dale
John Willie Dale Jr. was born in Oakland, CA. He was compelled to spend his childhood in Illinois because of a family rift, placing him in the hands of a stricter, religious family in Oakland, California. When he returned, he was exposed to street life and crime. When gangs took the life of his best friend, John realized that he needed to change direction. He moved to Ohio to escape Oakland’s perils. He took full responsibility for his choices due to his felon status. The following circumstances drove him to make a turning-point decision: to attend college.
